A high-growth CPG brand is seeking a Director of eCommerce focused on their direct-to-consumer business. Will be responsible for end-to-end e-commerce strategy and driving DTC initiatives, collaborating with data teams for consumer insights, overseeing key strategic functions, and managing critical financial metrics for continuous growth. Ideal candidates will exhibit proven e-commerce strategy expertise and strong analytical skills; running managing DTC brands and P&L is a must

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) strategy encompassing Product, Promotion, Competitive Landscape, Loyalty/Subscription.
  • Deliver on the company’s ambitious ecommerce revenue targets.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats. Utilize findings to inform strategic decisions and stay ahead of industry changes.
  • Collaborate with the data team to gain in-depth insights into the consumer base, driving effective segmentation strategies to enhance targeting and personalization.
  • Assume responsibility for managing key performance indicators (KPIs) in the DTC Profit and Loss (P&L) statement, including promotional rates, subscription rates, and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)/Lifetime Customer Value (LTV).
  • Work closely with various departments such as IT, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to ensure seamless execution of the e-commerce growth strategy.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation by promoting experimentation and A/B testing to identify optimal strategies for growth.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the executive team, highlighting key performance metrics, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about emerging e-commerce technologies and tools. Implement and integrate new solutions to enhance the online shopping experience and streamline operations.
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years experience in a direct-to-consumer business with merchandising and commercialization exposure, sales planning and experience managing site experience a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in eCommerce leadership, with a focus on direct-to-consumer required.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with data teams to derive actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing S&S initiatives and loyalty programs, fostering customer loyalty and engagement.
  • Expertise in overseeing and optimizing key financial metrics within the DTC P&L.
  • Experience setting and managing sales and margin goals using available analytics and cross-team resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce best practices, including SEO, SEM, social media marketing, conversion rate optimization, and email marketing
  • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to drive informed decision-making.
  • Educational background in business, marketing, ecommerce, or a related field preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, agility in adapting to market dynamics, and enthusiasm for working in a fringe category space is a must.
