Our client, one of the fastest-growing DTC men’s apparel brands in the US, is seeking a Director, eCommerce Marketplaces who will lead efforts to establish and grow their presence on various online marketplaces, including Amazon. The ideal candidate will be an expert in eCommerce and marketplace businesses, and have experience managing his/her own P&L and driving profitability. This person will have a general manager’s mindset, with the ability to drive topline and bottom line performance, and will own advertising spend, inventory and assortment, pricing, operations (including fulfillment, shipping and returns), site merchandising, reporting and analysis. As such, this individual should be a true self-starter who can roll his/her sleeves up and dive right in, and possess excellent leadership, project management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategy for the eCommerce marketplace businesses, specifically Amazon, and deliver against top line targets and KPIs
  • Oversee P&L and all day-to-day management of online marketplaces
  • Manage relationship with all marketplace contacts
  • Identify and manage all relationships with external agencies that assist with the marketplace businesses
  • Manage all aspects of the marketplace channel, including financial forecasting, advertising strategy and campaigns, inventory management, customer experience, site merchandising, reviews, CX, reporting, etc.
  • Work with all cross-functional stakeholders, including marketing, merchandising, planning, operations, finance, etc. to deliver business results
  • Own marketing strategy and promotional calendar
  • Proactively seek out best practices and new innovations and apply to the business
  • Manage product catalog and own all site merchandising, with the goal of maximizing sales and conversion
  • Analyze customer feedback and product reviews to maintain a high seller rating and provide product development insights
  • Resolve all day-to-day marketplace challenges
  • Monitor product catalog for counterfeit and reseller issues
  • Generate reports and analysis on marketplace performance, and proactively share with leadership along with insights and recommendations

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience managing online marketplace businesses
  • 3+ years experience managing the Amazon sales channel
  • 5+ years experience managing his/her own P&L
  • Extensive experience launching new businesses on marketplaces, with ownership over all aspects of the launch and ongoing operations
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, including the ability to drive ideas from concept to completion, to quickly overcome obstacles/roadblocks, and to multi-task and balance multiple projects/priorities
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to drive projects and solve problems
  • Excellent communication skills; can easily communicate with everyone in the organization from executives to entry level team members
  • Demonstrated ability to build world class teams

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
