About the Company
Our client is a growing fragrance and personal care brand that crafts beautiful experiences for the home and body. The company is investing in a dedicated marketplace team to scale its Amazon business, pairing the agility of a growth-stage company with the heart of a purpose-driven brand.
Role Overview
The Director of Marketplaces will own and scale the company's Amazon business end-to-end. This is a hands-on operating role, not a strategy-only seat: the ideal candidate has personally managed Seller and Vendor Central, fixed broken listings under pressure, optimized PPC campaigns, and resolved inventory issues without leaning on excuses. This person understands how content, media, pricing, and supply chain work together to drive profitable growth, and knows how to lead and align a team to execute against those levers, reporting directly to the VP of Digital Commerce.
Areas of Responsibility
- Own the full Amazon P&L, including revenue, profitability, and growth targets across FBA, FBM, Vendor, and Seller Central.
- Lead a cross-functional marketplace team spanning paid ads, content, and marketplace support, acting as a hands-on player-coach who steps into the work while coaching the team toward independent mastery.
- Oversee inventory planning, demand forecasting, and FBA operations, protecting in-stock rates, IPI score, and overall account health.
- Own PDP performance, keyword strategy, and Storefront content to drive organic ranking and conversion.
- Direct Amazon Advertising strategy across Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, and DSP to hit TACOS and ROAS targets.
- Build reporting across traffic, conversion, CAC, and contribution margin, translating data into clear growth actions for the business.
What You Bring
- 7-10+ years of eCommerce experience with deep focus on Amazon and marketplaces, including a proven track record of owning and scaling a brand-side Amazon business, not just advising one.
- Expert-level command of Seller Central and/or Vendor Central, comfortable getting hands-on in the tools rather than only managing agencies.
- Experience directly managing individual contributors across media, content, and operations functions.
- Deep understanding of FBA operations, inventory management, and forecasting, plus strong command of Amazon Advertising and performance optimization.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel and dashboard proficiency, always connecting data to action.
- Experience in consumer goods, beauty, or lifestyle brands preferred; familiarity with tools like Helium 10, Jungle Scout, or Trellis is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $150K–$175K per year, depending on experience and location.
- Remote role with the flexibility and pace of a growth-stage company.
- Join a collaborative, inclusive team crafting beautiful fragrance and personal care experiences for the home and body.
- True P&L ownership: a chance to lead the marketplace business as an operator, not just a strategist.
