Remote w/ travel to Vista, CA (35 miles north of San Diego)
The Senior Manager of Amazon is responsible for all Amazon sales and marketing of a high-growth CPG health & wellness brand. Over time this position will hire additional resources, however, for the time being is solely responsible for the Amazon channel and should have sufficient hands on experience. The Senior Manager of Amazon will be responsible for introducing the brand to Amazon consumers through advertising/promotional and consumer education strategies. The Company has allocated sufficient resources to Amazon to accomplish its sales goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish the Company on Amazon as a leading health & wellness brand.
- Define and implement a short and long-term Amazon strategic plan for the brand, aligning with the Company’s overall mission, vision, and annual objectives.
- Leverage key metrics like LTV, CAC, new-to-brand customers, and repurchase rates to optimize acquisition efficiency, maximize retention, and scale Amazon profitability through targeted advertising, strategic pricing, bundling, and promotional tactics.
- Actively manage Amazon product portfolio and assortment, along with new product launches, and own the forecast / demand planning for the channel
- Proactively address issues related to ASIN setup, reseller activity, and other operational challenges to ensure continuous listing optimization.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to understand the consumer journey in order to develop content, copy, and relevant marketing ads that not only resonate with the consumer but also reflect industry best practices
- Identify and lobby internally for key enablers to facilitate account growth (new product development, new pack sizes/types, differentiated assortment, etc.)
- Analyze, optimize, and report on key performance indicators to meet growth and profit goals, working to support and link in how Amazon efforts support overall brand sales.
- Diligently manage the Amazon budget and spending allocations.
- Manage a direct report as well as external agencies to execute ecommerce/Amazon initiatives effectively
- Performance Ownership & Reporting: Own ACOS, conversion rate, Buy-Box %, IPI score, and organic keyword rank, with defined benchmarks (e.g., blended ACOS ≤ 20% while scaling topline). Produce weekly flash reports and monthly rollups tying ad performance and channel contribution to EBITDA impact.
- Catalog & Listing Health: Lead daily/weekly resolution of suppressed/stranded ASINs, catalog compliance issues, image/title audits, and keyword rank tracking using tools like Listing Quality Dashboard and Brand Analytics.
- Pricing Strategy & Channel Protection: Manage dynamic pricing logic, Deal of the Day and coupon calendar, Subscribe-&-Save penetration, and brand-specific promotional strategy.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Extensive experience on Amazon Marketplace in leadership roles, ideally with progression through various positions proving capability in flawless execution and strong strategic thinking.
- 5+ years’ experience working directly with Amazon.
- Experience creating and managing digital advertising campaigns on Amazon.
- Strong track record generating profitable growth via Amazon, preferably with fast growing consumer/food brands. Health and wellness industry experience a plus.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and understanding of Amazon KPI’s. Proven ability to draw conclusions and act based on data.
- Growth mindset.
EDUCATION
- A BS or BA is required
