High-growth DTC brand on Shopify Plus seeks a VP, Digital Marketing & Growth to joining our executive team as we scale our brand and growth with new audiences. Reporting directly to the CEO you’ll be the leader of the company’s direct marketing efforts across Growth, Creative, and Lifecycle Marketing. We’re looking for the right individual with an open mind toward experience and seniority – we care more about finding a motivated marketing leader who is 1) ready to own responsibility for our growth efforts, 2) a proven builder of teams and marketing programs in high growth and early stage environments, and 3) sufficiently humble to become a leader on. the company’s executive team. You have demonstrated success scaling consumer continuity & subscription business models, and possess a balanced acumen of both performance management and customer-centric creative and messaging optimization.

 

You will…

-Recruit and lead a high performing team of digital marketers; provide thoughtful mentorship and prioritization of different initiatives

-Drive strategy and execution of our performance and conversion-focused marketing efforts from first touch point to final conversion

-Architect and tightly manage a testing framework to increase our volume and pace of learning across all channels and aspects of the user funnel to conversion

-Track results and define critical growth KPIs, reacting quickly in response to market trends and results

-Manage marketing budget and media portfolio mix to scale growth with new audiences

-Partner with creative, product, data and finance teams to execute with keen focus on acquiring highly engaged new customers who will grow into loyal, high LTV customers

-Hold a key seat on the executive team to lead on strategic company decisions around how we should grow our customer base

-Partner with our content and creative team to co-develop a high performing content & campaign marketing engine

 

You have…

 

-8+ years experience in D2C marketing, with acumen for selling premium consumable products

-A strategic and entrepreneurial mindset with ability to be a structured thinker and take calculated risks

-In-depth expertise and demonstrated success operating and leading paid media, SEO, content marketing, influencers, affiliates and other digital channels

-Exceptional organizational leadership skills with the ability to attract, grow and retain top talent

-Deep relationships and network within the growth marketing industry, with a keen eye towards top talent, partners, and leading technologies

-Highly analytical, deeply data-driven with extensive experience with incremental measurement, AB testing, attribution models, web and financial analytics

-Facility with creative and messaging direction and talent management

Growth Marketing

• Experience successfully launching new channels through experimentation and iteration

• Demonstrated expertise measuring returns against marginal efficiency standards, evaluating

relative efficacy of competing channels, and making systematic decisions about relative spend allocation

• Demonstrated experience investing in creative content to support and enhance paid marketing channels

• Experience unlocking organic marketing loops around customer engagement, SEO, organic social, etc.

• Acumen around paid digital media, with particular interest in experience successfully managing paid search campaigns

 

Lifecycle Marketing

 

• Experience managing lifecycle marketing activities related to lead funnel (growth) and active customer/subscriber engagement (retention)

• Strong understanding of technologies and media related to customer engagement (Email/ ESP’s, SMS, App, etc)

• Experience hiring and/or managing for this function

• Campaign/Product Marketing

• Experience in successfully managing campaign calendars and effectively operationalizing campaigns related to new product launches, product awareness, and/or relevant seasonal offerings

• Experience building and/or scrutinize messaging and value proposition optimization as part of full funnel message optimization

 

Management/Leadership

 

• Experience hiring and managing multiple areas of the marketing suite

• Demonstrated successes identifying people needs and effectively recruiting strong talent

• Comfort making decisions about in-house vs agency and demonstrated decisiveness in these matters in high-velocity decision environments

• Performance management experience (both good and bad)

• Industry Experience

• Experience selling consumable physical products through a continuity/subscription model

• Experience with digital subscription marketing experience

• Experience measuring and optimizing for customer/cohort loyalty and retention
