Our client, a high-growth eCommerce SaaS company, seeks a product/marketplace leader to lead the evolution and growth of their innovative and exciting collaborative commerce platform.

 

YOU ARE:
Someone who has taken a marketplace product from 0 to 1.
Someone who understands the nuances of supply/demand equilibrium, marketplace rules/governance/best practices, and reputation system(s).
Someone who has a burning desire to reduce friction, remove clicks, and make onboarding easy.
Someone who cares deeply about reducing churn and improving product stickiness – getting as many users as possible to their “AHA!” moment.
Someone who has product vision, can manage a roadmap, but is also willing to be an individual contributor. 
Someone who enjoys working directly with UI/UX and our frontlines teams while writing and managing tickets in collaboration with our engineering team.
You have worked directly with Shopify/DTC merchants as a part of their marketplace experience.
Someone who is always asking questions, gathering data, and making incremental improvements quickly.
Someone who has built a commerce-oriented marketplace. You might also be someone who has managed omni-channel/marketplaces/dropship for a large brand or online store.
You understand the tech stacks of SMB and enterprise brands/retailers because you’ve worked with them or you’ve worked at one (or more) of them.
Ideally, you have strong copywriting skills/message design and can lead our product marketing efforts (transactional emails/SMS, in-app copy, feature announcements, etc.). 
Ideally, you have worked with dropship and/or wholesale platforms.
Ideally, you have experience going cross-platform in ecommerce (from Shopify to others such as BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce, etc.).
You have a strong understanding of product-related KPIs.
Someone who has a bias towards action, is willing to roll up their sleeves, and shows up every day to get things done.
Someone who will act as an internal champion for our users.
You are ego-less, you care about results, and you are married to the right solution to our most challenging and prioritized problems.
You have an entrepreneurial spirit.
Someone who overcomes problems like an Olympic hurdle jumper.
Someone who’s a great teammate and thrives in a highly collaborative environment.
You’re a self-starter that isn’t afraid to think differently, lead new efforts, and define and present new opportunities to your peers.
As a VP of Product, Marketplace, you will have a proven track record of owning a product roadmap while being an individual contributor and building and growing a marketplace from 0 to 1. You strive to reduce friction, scale supply/demand, and build an engaging platform.
