Our client is a healthy food CPG brand built around clean ingredients and better-for-you products. The team is lean (11 people total) and founder-led, with a bias for action and a track record of stretching limited budgets into meaningful growth. As the brand scales its digital footprint, it is investing in dedicated eCommerce leadership to own the channels driving the next phase of growth.
Role Overview
They are looking for a Director of eCommerce to own Amazon, TikTok Shop, third-party ecommerce, and AI Commerce, and to lead a small but growing in-house team. You will have 1.5 direct reports, strong agency support, and the potential to hire as the brand scales. This is a doer-first role: you will be hands-on across strategy and execution, responsible for driving significant ecommerce growth while staying accountable to margin, not just revenue.
Areas of Responsibility
- Omnichannel Strategy & Management (20%): Own the 24-month roadmap to $6M in digital revenue, including the P&L. Define spend allocation across channels, agencies, and technology, and support the Digital Marketing Director and Social Media Manager.
- Amazon (45%): Own Seller Central day-to-day. Drive catalog architecture, ad strategy, listing optimization, and Subscribe & Save growth.
- TikTok Shop (25%): Execute a three-phase build: first, test organic content formats alongside the Social Media Manager to surface what goes viral; second, layer in paid affiliate seeding to scale what works; third, convert top-performing content into ads. Agency support is available, and an Affiliate Manager hire is possible as the program matures.
- AI Commerce & Third-Party Ecommerce (10%): Own product discoverability across AI-driven search and shopping surfaces (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and emerging agentic commerce). Own performance and catalog presence across third-party ecommerce sites including Walmart.com, Thrive Market, Grove, iHerb, and Instacart.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with meaningful ownership of Amazon Seller Central and Amazon Advertising expertise (Sponsored Products, Brands, Display)
- Experience launching TikTok Shop, or a demonstrated track record with social commerce
- Curiosity and early hands-on experience with AI-driven commerce and discovery tools
- Strong P&L ownership, comfortable managing budgets, forecasting, and reporting to leadership
- Data-driven decision making, fluent in analytics tools such as Helium 10, Jungle Scout, or Brand Analytics
- Experience driving aggressive growth within limited budgets, with a knack for stretching every dollar for maximum impact
- Comfort operating in a lean, founder-led environment with a bias for action: launching, testing, learning, and iterating faster than the competition
- The ability to balance short-term wins with long-term strategy, equally comfortable building the plane while flying it
Compensation: Competitive base salary ranging from $115k to $180k depending on experience, with strong performance bonuses, equity, full healthcare, 401k match, and unlimited PTO.
